Inspired by many different cats of an array of eras;
After the beloved Steiff “scaredy cat” from the 20’s, The 1941 “Alley Cat” MGM animation & the controversial “Hep Cat” that rivaled it in 1942 by Looney Tunes shortly after. A tip of the “cat” to Cab Calloways’ Hepster Dictionary, married with the good ol’ classic Hallowe’en black cat. Made to feel like it was found from a long time ago.
Meet your new, old, customized good luck charm, The Hep Cat! Just like the Bulldog, this is an ode to an era of customized things.
Every Cat is made by hand, in Los Angeles, California. Each including a fully chain stitched face, a collar, corduroy lining with a security pocket, customized name, detachable strap & dust bag.
The zippers are vintage ranging from the 40’s-60’s and have been tested for function, including the interior zipper. They all will vary and all have beautiful personality - either steel or brass - no nylon or plastic.
Each Cat is fitted with jeweled green eyes eyes that will reflect when hit with light and each cat comes with a vintage steel ball chain charm zipper pull.
Cats are stuffed with full cotton fluff and made of steerhide leather. They are fitted with nickel plate hardware, for the silver freaks out there. Lining is Hershey’s chocolate corduroy, fitted with a security pocket for cat nip.
They can carry a large cell phone, sunglasses, a mid- sized wallet, keys, makeup and more. The clip on the strap also doubles as a clip for your keys.

The name(s) of your Cat : Choose your pals’ name, or names. You have a choice of two words per side of Cat (no more) and can choose to match each side or do a different name per side. Please specify when prompted.
Color of thread:Choose the color of thread you would like the chainstitched name to be. Either Rayon (shiny) or Cotton (matte) :

Straps: is completely removable if you’d like to wear your cat friend as a clutch or long enough to wear as a crossbody. TWO OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE STRAP; LEATHER AND CHAIN
Leather Strap comes in two sizes;
Small : Best for petite builds -
23”- 28” to the furthest belt hole
Large: Best for Tall and larger builds -
30”- 35” to the furthest belt hole
8 oz strap and collar
Chain strap: One size at 40” but can be doubled through the hardware to make it a shoulder bag.
